
GMAR awards scholarships to members looking to further their career with specialized education and to members’ children graduating and committed to attending a Michigan college, university, or trade school.
Scholarships are awarded to recipients ranging from $100 to $1,000.
Applications are available by the first business day of February and close on the last business day of March, annually.

Realtor® Member Scholarships
Scholarship Requirements
- Minimum one year’s experience as a real estate salesperson
- Must be Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® member in good standing
- Must have the recommendation of the managing broker
- Classes, designation, or certification must be completed by December 1st of the calendar year in which the award was made.
- Payment is reimbursed with successful attainment of the Designation or Certification and a copy of the receipt and certificate of completion.

- CCIM - Certified Commercial Investment Member
- CIPS - Certified International Property Specialist
- CRB - Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager
- CRE - The Counselors of Real Estate
- CRS - Certified Residential Specialist
- GRI - Graduate, REALTOR® Institute
- PMN - Performance Management Network
- SIOR - Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®
- Real Estate Broker License Courses (90 hours)

Higher Education Scholarships
The Higher Education Scholarship is available to graduating high school senior children and those under the legal guardianship of GMAR REALTOR® members in good standing. The purpose of this fund is to encourage local high school seniors to continue their formal education at Michigan colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher learning.
Scholarship Requirements
- Must be a graduating high school senior child or under the legal guardianship of a GMAR REALTOR® member in good standing
- Must attend an institution of higher learning in the state of Michigan
- Must submit high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores
