Below is information on the 2021 elections through the Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors®. Those elected in these upcoming elections will begin their term on January 1, 2022.

  • The Board of Directors consists of nine (9) District Directors, three (3) At Large Directors, and one (1) Affiliate Director.  Anyone wishing to run for an open Director position must:

    • •    Be a GMAR member in good standing for at least three years; 
    • •    Serve on a GMAR Committee over the last 12 months;
    • •    Demonstrate support for GMAR over the last 12 months through program involvement;
    • •    Show service to the community through volunteer activities in the past 3 years;
    • •    Demonstrate support for advocacy, for example, but not limited to RPAC 

    Members seeking to run for a District Director position: office on record with LARA and GMAR must be located within the District borders for which you elect to run.

    Members seeking to run for an At Large Director position may be located anywhere within the GMAR Districts.

    Members seeking to run for an Affiliate Director must be active participants on the GMAR Affiliate Committee.  Nominations for this position due by June 30, 2021.

  • 2022 Election – GMAR Directors

    Positions available:

    • •    District 2 Director (3-year term)
    • •    District 6 Director (3-year term)
    • •    District 8 Director (3-year term)
    • •    District 9 Director (3-year term)
    • •    TWO At Large Directors (3-year term)
    • •    ONE At Large Director (2-year term)
    • •    Affiliate Director (1-year term)

    Nominations must be filed between August 30, 2021, and September 13, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

    The election will run online only beginning on October 4, 2021, and closing at 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2021.

  • How to Apply

    1.    Submit a resume including the above information between August 30, 2021, and September 13, 2021, 5:00 p.m.
    2.    Submit a photo (which will be used on the official ballot should you be nominated)
    3.    Submit a bio paragraph exactly as you wish it to appear on the official ballot should you be nominated.

  • The NAR Constitution states that each local board with a membership of 2,000 or more shall be entitled to a number of directors determined by dividing the membership of the local board by the number 2,000. The Constitution also requires that July 31 membership counts be used to calculate NAR director entitlement in Article IV section 1 (U).

    According to the above information, in 2022, GMAR shall be entitled to four (4) NAR Directors to represent the membership for a one-year term, beginning on January 1, 2022. The general policy is that the President of GMAR shall be named to the first National Association of REALTORS® Director Entitlement position.

    Candidates will be interviewed by the GMAR Board of Directors at their September 22, 2021 meeting, either in person or via Zoom, and allotted a maximum of 15-minutes each.
