GMAR has worked with the National Association of REALTORS® to obtain a Fair Housing Grant to support hosting the Bias Override training course in Southeast Michigan on October 6th, reinforcing its commitment to fair housing education, professional responsibility and housing access.
The grant award is made possible by the National Association of REALTORS® as part of its Community Development Advocacy program, which empowers REALTOR® associations to strengthen their communities through effective advocacy, partnerships, and on-the-ground initiatives.
Through this initiative, GMAR will support providing real estate professionals with the skills and knowledge to learn how to interrupt stereotypical thinking and ensure they are providing equal, professional service to every customer or client. This course also works to help REALTORS® strengthen their understanding of the Fair Housing Act and better serve all prospective homeowners and renters.
REALTORS® know that Fair Housing is foundational to a healthy real estate market and strong communities. Education and training play a critical role in upholding housing laws, addressing bias, and ensuring that all qualified buyers and renters are treated with dignity and fairness.
By leveraging this grant, GMAR is investing in the knowledge, tools, and partnership needed to advance fair housing principles in the community.
