Southfield, MI – November 14, 2024 – The Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (GMAR) is thrilled to announce Karen Greenwood as the recipient of the 2024 Greater Neighbor Award. This prestigious award recognizes REALTORS® who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities through volunteer work, embodying the spirit of service and leadership.
Karen Greenwood exemplifies community-driven leadership and unwavering dedication to the well-being of her hometown. She has consistently prioritized homeownership and the betterment of her community through her volunteer efforts, leaving an indelible impact on countless lives.
One of Karen’s standout achievements is her involvement with Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build initiative. She has dedicated her time and talents to this cause, working on projects to build or renovate homes, helping families achieve the American dream of homeownership. Each year, Karen organizes an 8-10-person volunteer build day and coordinates week-long build events for her company to join.
Karen’s commitment extends far beyond her work with Habitat for Humanity. She is deeply involved in GMAR and supports the Greater REALTORS® Foundation’s charitable initiatives. Additionally, she volunteers with the Troy Community Foundation, a group dedicated to raising funds for nonprofits, endowments, and civic projects. Karen also raises funds and volunteers for the Stage Nature Center in Troy and serves on the City of Troy Assessing Board, ensuring citizens are fairly represented.
