SOUTHFIELD, MI. (May 16, 2023) – The Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (GMAR) will be hosting a homeownership education course in their Southfield classroom on Monday, May 22, 2023, 10 am – 2 pm. Completion of a homebuyer education course is a requirement of all down payment assistance programs, and after completion attendees will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 12 months.
The class is free and open to the public to attend with lunch included, but potential attendees should register in advance. Attendees will learn more about the home buying process and what steps are required to qualify for a mortgage from GMAR and the Southwest Solutions staff.
“Every GMAR member’s mission is to make the goal of home ownership possible, and these Homeownership Education courses will provide that insight to the general public,” said GMAR President Nathan Boji. “Bringing the public information on the home buying process before they look to make a purchase will give them the knowledge to make educated decisions every step of the way.”
The second homeownership course will be held at the Mount Clemens Public Library on August 14, 2023, 11 am – 3 pm, with a third course date and location still to be confirmed.
